Potiça is a bit of a tradition in our family when we have a get together, and my brother and I used to make it with our dad every Christmas. In recent years we've all been scattered all over the globe, or staying in relatives houses or in a hotel for Christmas, all of which doesn't really lend itself to the sheer dedication that is needed to even get halfway through potiça making. This year though, I was determined. Let's let the results speak for themselves.
This recipe involves a lot of mixing...
...a lot of yeast...
...a little bit of patience while you wait for the dough to rise...
...and a LOT of chocolate.
Now roll it all out and smear that chocolate over it!
Once it was rolled up and carefully laid into it's baking bowl it didn't look too pretty, but a little vacation to the oven did wonders.
Lovely. Proper Christmas!
